Meeting of the Minds
After many different campaigns, mostly losses, the Kabal of the Liquid Sword has a serious meeting. The Jade Emperor has considered his losses, his alliances, and his enemies, and as such decided to put the past behind and look forward. Those at the meeting will also get to air their grievances...this one time.
J.E.: I call this meeting to order. We will now discuss the future of this Kabal. There will now be changes within and without the Kabal. Before any of you whine like little b*tches, I have taken notice of how hard everyone has been training, particularly the Cult of Misery. I have also taken notice of the new technologies that have been developed by the Monster Squad [re: Dark Eldar updates]. We have sustained many losses, and the perception of our reputation is at stake. Other kabals will create the perception the we lack strength, that I lack strength. Do not lose site of our way, of why we are the Liquid Sword, and never forget that perception and reality are two different things.
Shaka: The fact that the other kabals are spreading propaganda is just one of the concerns. Quite frankly, the other races are more of a concern. We have proven that we can hold our own on Commoragh. The other races are tearing us to pieces. They don't fear us. What's worse...they don't respect us. The only reason we are even of concern at all is because of our tentative alliance with the Harlequins. I am not afraid of death; I am not afraid of loss. However, our lack of progress in the restoration of the prominence of our race is maddening, though.
J.E.: Not afraid of death? Not afraid of loss? That is exactly why you are my Archon. But remember that victory and loss are my concern, and mine alone. Sometimes I send you all out to lose. Do not forget that we are Dark Eldar. We are pain and suffering incarnate. Therefore, how can we be the masters of that which we cannot understand or relate to? Never forget that pain is simply weakness being forced out of you. Most races cling to their weakness to the point that they can not function without it. It is only in the moments in between suffering that one has the option of fear. Never forget that every scar is a victory. There is nothing wrong with losing as long as one does not lose the lesson involved.
Shaka: That is exactly why you are the Supreme Lord of the Liquid Sword. We should leave the past in the past. This meeting is about our future. [re: I lost the book with the missing campaign stories. Sorry guys]
J.E.: Precisely. Are there any other concerns?
Masai: Some of the troops resent the fact that they are missing out on the action in favor of the Harlequins backing us up. The perception is being created that we are dependent on them.
<Osiris doesn't budge>
J.E.: That perception will no longer be a problem. One: the perception has been created that we have Harlequin backup. No one wants to admit it, but everyone fears Harlequins. It totally f*cks up their universe to know that Harlequins are involved. Xenophobia, the lack of information, is a more effective than a dark lance. I think that the Tyranids have taught us that lesson well [f*ck you Kitoh].
Two: We will no longer be fighting our battles with Harlequins. But make no mistake: the alliance with the Masque of the Dark Sun is no longer tentative. It is official. <Everyone looks confused except for Osiris and Nebula> It goes like this: They have their own concerns in the warp, and problems have been brought to their attention throughout the galaxy. They will be getting more...directly involved with things from now on. We will not be giving the Dark Sun any problems whatsoever. All other Harlequins are fair game, however, if they get in our way.
Shaka: So the next time Scarab--
J.E.: Exactly. We will help them with their objectives and they will help keep Scarab at bay. They will also provide us with plenty of information about the other races that will be useful. We will work with them, and attack whatever outposts or civilizations they need us to. In exchange for this, we get to keep all of the loot, slaves, and souls that we gather. It will also help us with our reputation. One of the reasons that in the past the Dark Eldar have lacked respect is the fact the major kabals tend to go after weaker targets for easy victories. We will do no such thing. I guarantee you that in spite of our losses, the galaxy has taken notice of our actions. They know that the Liquid Sword does not give a f*ck. They respect us more than you know. Now it is time that they fear us.
Hanibal: And what of the outposts we have?
J.E.: All outposts have been consolidated. We no longer have to hide our assets from the other Kabals for fear that they know what we have and try to take them. Let them try. They saw what we did to the Kabal of the Iron Storm, and all the while they thought that because our chief rival is Lord Scarab that we would be solely occupied with bringing about his demise. It is official: we are the sh*t and they know it.
Sundiata: You also mentioned a restructuring of our hierarchy and battle force?
J.E.: Yes. For starters, Marilith has been demoted from her position as Dracon. Quite frankly, I don't think I need one. Shaka will do just fine. I plan on utilizing the Monster Squad in battle more often in order to assist the Liquid Sword. Marilith has since joined the Cult of Misery and has done a great job. In fact, she has managed to complete a hostile takeover of the entire cult. You will now address her as Archite Marilith. <Everyone but Shaka bows>. As my new Archite, her primary responsibility is to raise a strong force for an official Wytch Cult Army. We are diversifying people. In the meantime, I will make small utilization of Wytches in the Liquid Sword occasionally, to give off the false implication that I have no faith in the Cult. When the time is right, we will bring them out full force.
Each of you has a holofile detailing all of our military campaigns. It details the strengths and weaknesses of each of the major races so that we can deal with them more effectively. The galaxy will fear us again. The galaxy will bow down before the Liquid Sword. Meeting adjourned.
