Biel Tan vs. Liquid Sword: Round 2
Shaka was severely pissed. He was tired of losing. After the Race War incident, the Ulthwe decided to cleanse the Liquid Sword from the Tinles system, Shaka lost so bad that he didn't bother to retreat. He simply left the sector. Imhotep was seriously injured. Then, the Space Wolves were spotted on the planet Sofax. After losing a unit of scourges, Shaka abandoned the outpost. How many L's could Shaka take before his esteemed Jade Emperor had enough? And then there was that run in with the Biel Tan. Now that Shaka had faced off with an Avatar face to face, he was afraid. Very afraid.
J.E.: Report.
A.S.: I have failed you, my Emperor. We stumbled upon the Biel Tan at night while setting up an outpost on Yama III. Of course it was abandoned once they found out we were active there. Under my leadership, we have lost many outposts. And that Avatar was too much for me. His retinue was too much for me. I'm the one with the Hell Mask and I was disoriented and afraid. I was forced to retreat. I am not worthy.
J.E.: As I expected in the first place. What did I tell you? The outposts are fringe benefits. Nothing more. Believe it or not, this last battle was not a loss. At least not enough losses was sustained to actually call it a loss. The Emerald Knights reported in shortly after you. You believe that the Avatar has subdued you, but you are quite mistaken. The Avatar and his retinue are fearless and powerful indeed. But their power and fearlessness have f*cked them in the end. The Emerald Knights report that the entire retinue except for one minor Exarch have been captured alive. Therefore, you and your retinue crippled them enough to be finished off. Consider yourself worthy from this moment on.
A.S.: Captured? Amazing. I thought they perished in battle.
J.E.: Yes. Captured. I had them keep it hush hush until this debriefing. Now please, explained what happened.
A.S.: I have eliminated two units of troops and made the rest larger in number to support the warriors with dark lances, as per your request. Additionally, I think I have learned enough from my mistakes to be wary of the Dark Reapers. In fact, they did poorly against us. I had the Elephant Squad initially on the roof of the southwestern building, but I ordered them down. As Edea often complained about her squad being too large for her to effectively use the webway portal, I have given it to Krull. Or shall we say, the late Krull.
J.E.: Excellent adaptation. Continue.
A.S.: After activating the portal, the Leopards utterly obliterated what appeared to be a Reaper Assault squad. There was another unit of Reapers off in the distance as support, but apparently they couldn't see anything in the dark and were useless all battle. Meanwhile, the Biel Tan attempted to flank us in the first quadrant of battle but the Obsidian Knights held down the first quadrant well, and the Horns destroyed 1 Vyper and stunned the other one. When the Talos arrived, it wilded out, same as always, but the Scorpions it attacked maintained cohesion. With that in mind, the Zulu Knights fell upon the Scorpions and made quick work of them. At the same time, the Monster Squad detected a Farseer on a jetbike (how unusual, how creative), but the Crucible of Malediction was inneffective. Ultimately, Imhotep paid for that failure with his life. Meanwhile, after we wiped out the Scorpions, we were ambushed by Howling Banshees and the Avatar. I had the pleasure of watching the Avatar flinch when looking at my Hell Mask, but the Banshees had strange masks on that disoriented my entire retinue. The Zulu Knights were slaughtered, and I was forced to retreat with but one warrior. The Biel Tan, in a confident folly, attempted to flank us again with a Grav Tank, which was destroyed by the Elephant Squad.
Meanwhile, to the east, the Farseer was devastating the Emerald Knights and holding the Monster Squad at bay. To the west, a Wraithlord attacked the Horns and kept them occupied. The Howling Banshees, in their pride and utter stupidity, fell upon the Talos and those that didn't get diced fell back. When the Raider finally arrived, the Talos more or less finished off the Banshees. The Cult of Misery dismounted and attacked the Avatar and his retinue while the Raider took shots at him. At this time, as I was getting the f*ck out of dodge, their retinue had fallen, but the Cult of Misery had fallen as well. The Emerald Knights took out a Vyper without their dark lances, and as the Elephant Squad missed the last Vyper, the Obsidian Knights supported them and finished it off. And as the Wraithlord closed in, the Emerald Knights were being whittled down, the Farseer moved in after being attacked by the warp and shaking it off, and the War Walkers came out of hiding, we simply left the area.
J.E.: Good, good. I'm proud of how well you adapt on the field. We must instruct you on using terrain to your advatantage. But for now, recuperate and well meet tomorrow.
A.S.: To hear is to obey.
