Lesser of Evils II
These team ups made everyone uncomfortable, but it was necessary. This time, the Kabal of the Violent Mist managed to strike a temporary deal with Blood Angels. How in the hell...? Luckily, Shaka managed to speak with the Tyranid...thing known as Overmind in order to strike a deal of his own. He figured that if the Tau could speak to it, then he could as well. He convinced it that he--it would benefit better from consuming Blood Angels than Dark Eldar. When the Overmind, who spoke with high pitched shrieks and screams but had a level of telepathy, suggested he could always benefit from acquiring samples from both races, Shaka mentioned the alliance with the Violent Mist. The Tyranids did no good in the battle, but it was quick thinking nevertheless.
J.E.: Now what was all this confusion and mayhem about? How did we fall apart?
Shaka: Sir, remember when Supreme Lord Scarab hired a unit of troops, reavers, and hellions from you? To use against Blood Angels?
J.E.: Yes.
Shaka: Well, that son of a b*tch struck a deal with the Blood Angels to get rid of us. And he used our troops to do it. Originally, they were to go after a brood of Tyranids causing trouble in the Spebrae system. I guess he thought it would be funny to kill two slaves with one agonizer.
J.E.: And what of my retained soldiers?
Shaka: According to the helmet attached spycams, those who didn't defect to the Violent Mist met gruesome ends.
J.E.: That crab in a barrel is forcing my hand. One day, we will have to go toe to toe directly with them. It's tricky though, I suspect that the other Kabals are waiting for us to do just that so that they take us both out.
Shaka: Please excuse my interruptions, sir, but what is a crab?
J.E.: Nevermind. What happened?
Shaka: Well, first there was reports of a rhino that 'smoked up', and it's multi-melta destroyed the weapon on my raider. As the Zulu Knights closed in, Shonuff ducked a second too late and was accidently fried by Osiris' neural disruptor. Nevertheless, 2 Scouts were fried as well. I need to report ahead of time, but the curse of the 'lance was in full effect once again. Mali forgot to use his haywire grenades because he was so eager to use his agonizer on the tank. Additionally, the Talos went a little too wild and pretty much f*cked up. The Blood Nazis got really pissed off and assaulted the Horns, and Mali is subsequently dead. The Horns were torn apart.
J.E.: And what of the Violent Mist?
Shaka: We saw them in the distance and they were too occupied with the Tyranids to worry about us. I wanted to believe that it was done this way intentionally and that they would turn on the Blood Angels, but I knew that they would come for us once the Tyranids were dealt with. It was too good an opportunity to make us look bad. Anyway, when the Leopard Squad touched down, they missed their shots, yet again, and two of them were shot down. The Raider strategically decided to hide out. I figured that I'd at least save you some money in this disaster. We managed to neutralize their landspeeder but it was not destroyed. At this time, I received reports that the Tyranids were suffering. I also received reports that the Talos got it together and wiped out a lot of Blood Nazis in combat. The Leopard Squad managed to maintain under heavy fire, but nevertheless Sundiata did not survive the battle. I gave the order to turn our lances against the Violent Mist, and we were not successful. The Violent Mist retaliated by attacking the Talos, but it held its own.
J.E.: I take it that you were trying to flank them?
Shaka: More like get them before they got us. Scarab's Archon was smart enough to keep our retained troops to the far south and on the Tyranids so that they wouldn't know that they were actually working against us. It was a gamble, but I had hoped to make enough noise so that they could see what was going on. The Leopard Squad returned heavy fire, but only managed to take out one Blood Nazi. I don't fault them, the nazis are tough. Osiris did his thing with that neural disruptor, and the Emerald Knights took out a Rhino. The Talos decided to wild out again and started to lose its effectiveness. However, the Blood Nazi lascannons were relatively inneffective for its strength, so it balanced out--sort of. Once the Blood Nazis regrouped, they wiped out the Leopard Squad. Then, the Violent Mist Scourges tore through the Emerald Knights in support of the Blood Nazis. The Lascannon failed yet again, and the Violent Mist's Archon peeled through the Emerald Knights, forcing them to retreat. I want to see him in battle personally.
J.E.: You'll get your chance.
Shaka: Right. We received reports from the retainer spy-cams that the Tyranids were totally wiped out, which explained why we had some difficulties in the end. The Obsidian Knights then fired upon the Archon and wounded him. The Zulu Knights then fired upon the Blood Nazis, who pretty much fought us to a standstill. However, Balor was shot down and killed. And as the Obsidian Knights failed to neutralize the Archon, I gave the order to retreat to discontinue the two front battle.
J.E.: Okay, that bastard wants to play nasty? Okay, I want you to track activities concerning Sisters of Battle. If Scarab wants to violate my resources, I'll violate his. Report to me once you gather more information.
Shaka: To hear is to obey.
