Masque of the Dark Sun

Rogziel simply shook his head. He looked out the window, not that there was much to look at in the middle of the warp. At least, there wasn't much that was comprehensible to the naked eye to look at upon basic observance...He did not like this idea at all. At all. Granted, Dark Sun, Inc. was an unusual band of Harlequins and their unpredictablility provided them with a competitive advantage in every sense of the word. But Osiris lost his f*cking mind on this one. Nevertheless, Ra knew that everyone in Dark Sun had an equal stake within the corporation. As the Great Harlequin, he was the leader in technicality. His power was not absolute, so he had to consider the decision of the house of Osiris. He had to consider it no matter how insane it sounded. One thing was definite: the house of Osiris had made up its mind. Everyone else on the board watched silently as the two most powerful houses clashed in terms of philosophy and implementation..

Rogziel: I don't like it. Not at all. Before I even think about rallying the rest of the corportation for this endeavor, you are going to have to convince me that it is worth the opportunity cost. I recognize that we are all equals, but let us keep it real: I have the most pull in this organization and I'm totally against it.

Osiris: You are just going to have to trust me on this one. I've been keeping contact with him for some time. This guy is thoroughly on point. He is one of the few that is starting to 'get it.'

Rogziel: Then why not recruit him? Why not even consider him for the Ritual? I think you know how dangerous this is and you are not as confident as you appear to be in this situation.

Osiris: The only reason I haven't considered him for membership is because I know that he will never join us, even if I convince him that he is worthy. He knows his identity and he will live and die by it. He doesn't totally trust anyone, which is why he has to be in a position of independence. He doesn't take orders well at all, but he is always open to suggestion. We Eldar still have a long way to go in terms of recovering from our fall from grace, so I honestly don't blame him. Believe it or not, he needs to be where he is right now. I have a feeling about this one, a strong one. Besides, if by some catastrophe I'm wrong, we'll know enough about him to get rid of him and his entire Kabal. He has shown me nothing but respect thus far, and I don't see him screwing us, even if it is convenient for him to do so. I told you, his Kabal's foundation relies on the acquirement of information. That is the one thing that we specialize in. He knows of our adaptability and grace and respects us. The Kabal that he has set up actually lives to bear witness to the truth. As far as I can tell, their treacherous tactics have more to do with maintaining perceptions than dealing with reality. It is a defensive mechanism.

Rogziel: I refuse to believe that.

Osiris: Believe it. Why else would I soil myself by dealing with Dark Eldar? Do you seriously think I'd waste my time with them if I had any doubts? Besides, Nebula is the one that found him. I'm actually endorsing her decision. He considers me a valuable asset to him, but he is wrong. He is actually a valuable asset to us, and he doesn't even realize it. In my mind, that makes him a Harlequin, even if only in the makeshift sense of being one. In his admittedly black and acidic heart, he is one of us. And since he is also Dark Eldar, we can use him to do a lot of our dirty work.

Rogziel:......Very well. I shall endorse your risk. However, in order to evaluate the cost effectiveness of this alliance, I'm only going to allow you to utilize the house of Nebula for now. As they prove themselves worthy, I'll allow you to use other elements of our army. Your lucky he's Eldar, or else I'd tell you to kiss my entire @ss. You'd better not be wrong about him...
